Hello everyone. I'm excited to be part of the BJP as I've learned to love bead embroidery because of Robin's work and her books. I've only been beading for a year, but before that my main passion was enameling and metal work. I wrote a book on enameling, The Art of Fine Enameling, which has been selling since 2002.
Now I'm totally into beading, using some of my enamels and metal work. Here is one of the dolls I've made, using an enameled face. And here is a wall piece that incorporates a Cloisonne brooch that can be removed for wearing.
I go to teach at an art's camp for 6 weeks (MedOLark.com) - I have previously set up their enameling and beading studios so I'll be leaving soon. But I plan to take my beads with me so that I work on my BJ for June and July.
I wait to see what everyone is doing. Have a beady great day! Karen L. Cohen

Karen, I adore your bottom beaded item! The shape is awesome! Plus all of the great beadwork!
ps. would you mind if I borrowed your shape idea?
Karen also makes some AWESOME cloisonne enameled buttons be sure to click on the link to get more information -- I keep looking at the beauty of the one I have. Really gorgeous.
The bugle work and the fringe arc coming off the side is so cool! I love the coralling on the bottom too. It's a beauty!!
Cheers, Denise
Your work is absolutely gorgeous! And what an AMAZING camp experience that must be. There should be tons more of them all over the country. It must be great fun working there!
What a unique wall hanging. I love it. I love how you incorporated the pin so it is on view even when not worn. I don't wear jewelry often and when I make it it sits in my jewelry box unseen.
this work is so rewarding to study. I love both pieces equally.
