Blogging Away

I have been thinking and thinking about my project. It seems that this first one sets the size of the whole project out... why do we have to do the hardest thing first!? :-) I am writing about that in my blog http://quiltbeadsandothersuch.blogspot.com/..... please visit me there. I will be adding photos to the blog there as I work. I enjoy seeing what others are doing along the way, and will share as I work.
Thanks again, Robin for your hard work. Responding to every one of us was a full time job for you! I hope you are hearing all the accolades that people are paying you! We wouldn't be here as a group of 240 of us if not for you! And thanks for the kind words of encouragement about not worrying about the "beading police"! LOL!
Is anyone else out there considering working on their own photos on fabric printed through an inkjet printer? Have you done that before? Were you pleased with the result? That's what I am considering, and need to just get started......

I love the idea of beading on photo's! I think it could be really interesting!
There is no rule that says you have to work in the same way the whole month! You can do a picture this month and decide if you like it or not.
Cheers, Denise

I considered doing that - well, I guess I kind of am because I am beading a picture of my dog! But not that I printed on the fabric - I cut out some of the shapes and have multiple layers.....

I have done a fair amount of beading and embroidery on photos printed on fabric. For me, the main trick is keeping my strawberry shaped needle emery close at hand.

I am planning on using some of my photos throughout this project, some printed on fabric and some will be experiments in image transfer. This is new for me but since I have a lot of detail photos I thought it would be a good way to combine the 2. For this month I used "June Tailor's Quick Fuse" It was quite easy to use and I haven't had any trouble beading through it. If you need any help let me know. Angie

Krispi ~ Thanks for your support and appreciation! If you haven't gone to Angela's BJP blog, you should... she's beading photos of flowers.

Krispi --

I love printing fabric with my inkjet! Have done this for quite a long while now for many different projects. Just be sure to tone down your photo in the greyscale range -- making the photo a bit lighter will make your work go better.
