Made a BOOK!

After seeing how Geneviève made a fabulous book with pictures (and stories) of her BJP pieces, I decided to do one too. It's not as easy as the company wants you to think (at least it wasn't for me), but I like the results. I ordered a hard copy, which should arrive in the next few days. I'll report back when it does to tell you what I think of the quality, etc. In the meantime, if you're interested, you can see a "virtual" copy of my book here.

PS The books take a few minutes to load...

My DIL did this with my grandson's pics last year for Christmas. The book is very nice. What a good idea. It would make a nice momento for this year's work.
Did you prewrite the pages or do it when you did the book?

Thanks Arline and Kathy! I thought about pre-writing the pages, but didn't. Actually, I'm glad because the formatting is very limited and the text box size is not adjustable... so for me it worked pretty well to write and format in the given box until I said what I needed to say and it all fit. The real issue for me was the non-adjustable box size for both images and text. There were several layout choices, but the font and font size choices for one layout choice, didn't match those for a different layout. So, I ended up using the same two layouts for all my pages to keep some sort of consistent look. If anyone else decides to try it, I recommend going to the MyPublisher forum and reading the tips and problems topics first. It would have helped me a lot, but I didn't think about it until later. Also, I'm happy to answer questions based on my limited experience with it. R.

It's beautiful. This is a great format to display the pages and have room for the comments right next to the page.

It does look wonderful and I'm so glad the text stayed...it is a really vital part of your pages, I think.

Looks wonderful -- I look forward to your report of its quality, etc. Another motivation for me to finish my last 3 pages!

Not sure I would have the patience to do all that work but it looks wonderful. But then it helps that the author is a very gifted person. :)

What a wonderful book to have! Maybe next year. Actually, I just thought about putting some of my photographs into a book. I'm glad you reminded us of this. Genevieve's book was wonderful and I really like the idea.

My real question is - what will you do with the original pages?

Thanks for your inspiration - always.

To All ~ Thanks for your positive comments about the book. The hard copy hasn't arrived yet, but I have to admit that I enjoy looking at the virtual book from time to time. As for the originals? My new plan is going forth today, right after I close this comment... I hope to post about it this weekend. Cheers! Robin

Getting a book printed may prove to be an easy way to share this project with others without carrying the actual pieces around. You could also mount the pieces in a completely different manner!

thanks for the ideas, ladies!
