Second panel almost finished - yay!

March page 2007 BJP

Hi everyone, it has been a very long time since I posted. I finally finished my 8th page, which is for March of 2008. It has been done for awhile but I have had computer problems and was not able to download the picture and then post it. But it is there now if you would like to take a look.

Happy beading,

Nancy K.

slow going...

Well, I finally finished all of the fire on my Elemental Fire panel. I still have to choose the colors for the inside - it will be green, like the leaf in the center of Elemental Air, but more of a true green as opposed to green-blue or blue-green.

Part of the reason this is going so slow is because I am doing a lot of writing lately. I have written a couple of new poems. I am also taking an Intro to Fiction Writing course online through UNC-Chapel Hill which is a blast - but tons of work.

Time Is SO Catching Up With Me!

Here it is, August 30, only one more day until 2008-2009 BJP officially begins.  I am nowhere near finishing up 2007...  and I'm realizing that that doesn't really matter so much.  This has been a wonderful, sanity-keeping experience for me, having my BJP project to come back to after things went haywire, which they did on a regular basis this last year.  I can confidently say that I wouldn't have come through nearly as well as I have without the beadwork and all of you to encourage and inspire me.  At this point I have 6 and 5/6th pages done, just a bit over half of the 12 I'd hoped to have.  And my solution is to invoke my Artistic License and, well, cheat and declare that each page will represent 2 months.  :- D  Oh, I'll still be working on 2007-2008 as I go along,  but right now I can have that (somewhat false) sense of achievement and completion. Page 7 will  be finished up by tomorrow, and then I will start 2008-2009.  And I still haven't decided on size, theme (if any), or anything.  I can't wait to find out what I'll come up with!

Latest Update for the Penultimate Behinder

Well, I’ve been pretty busy lately so haven’t had time to get caught up completely. But I have worked on it some, and have an update posted here: http://beadg1rl.deviantart.com/art/Elemental-Fire-WIP-92303598 Just click on the picture to enlarge it. This is the second panel of 4 for the entire BJP. The first one can be seen here: http://beadg1rl.deviantart.com/art/Elemental-Air-83547456

I also have progress photos on my blog http://beadingbutterfly.blogspot.com if you don’t have a DA account and want to leave comments. :)

Catching Up Finally!

G'Day Everyone,
Just a little teaser of February that I finished today, I've posted it to Flickr.
I was very sick in Feb and unable to bead at all. But am much better now.
March, April and May are all set to go then I only have to backtrack to August finish that and meet you all at the finish line on May 30!
I will be on board for next year (only wish it was a later start) that said I'm looking forward to having a break in June/July as it's my Birthday June 21st and My Son turns 18 July 2nd so methinks there will be a bit of partying going on!
I'm really enjoying being a part of this group my only regret is that you all live so gosh darn far away!
So it's back to the work desk for me while we still have beautiful sunshine here, it's supposed to be Autum(Fall) but the weather is so spring like even some of the flowers are blooming again - go figure!
Needles threaded, beads at the ready
Talk soon

Poll - Undecided

I am so far behind, that it seems inappropriate to try and jam all the pages into the end. So I am willing to join in another year. Journaling is not something I have done much of in print or other forms, this seems to be part of the stumbling block for me.

But after saying that, a strong feeling came over me to not participate. That I should stay committed to finding my artistic voice and not pressure myself to find it through a monthly bead journal page. Sounds contrary to me.....

Thanks for sharing all of your beautiful work and a special thanks to Robin for inspiring us all!

My December Journal Page

Happy New Year to all of you!

It's been awhile since I've posted here. Between the holidays and a jewelry show I participated in last November, I have a lot of catching up to do. I've just completed my December page and you can view it on my blog here.

Even though I've fallen behind, I've been following everyone's posts and links with great interest and enjoying the gorgeous artwork. I still have my November page to complete. I'd like to do a photo transfer onto fabric. It will be from a photo I'll scan into my computer.

Does anyone have an easy technique for this?

Thanks!
-Karen

Behinder update

I've added Sept and Oct to Flickr, and a picture of how the pieces will be finished. Nov is finished, Dec is planned, so I'm only one month behind now.

Please vote!

I've been writing and beading samples for my new bead embroidery book! I'm stuck about the title, so have put a poll on my blog. It will be at the top of the side bar until New Year's Day. Please help me decide by voting!

In the meantime, I've joined the behinders... Christmas, BJP, commenting on all of your wonderful work, housekeeping... EVERYTHING is on the back burner while this book is being born. Please forgive me... I WILL catch up as soon as I can.

May your Christmas holidays be filled with the blessings of love, family and friendship! Love, Robin A.

October in December!

I have finished my October page. I have it on my blog if you want to see it. I'll try posting it to flickr too.

Hope everyone enjoys their holiday season. I hope to read more of the blogs to see what everyone has been up to lately. Enjoying this group is like a present!

Way behind

Not done much beading recently but I haven't given up. Just got a lot of work on my hands at the moment but after the New Year should get back in the flow of things.

Just looked at the Flickr page and there is lots of exciting pages going up, can't wait to everyone's all compiled in the Spring.

Another Month Completed

I was so happy last night, I completed my September page. You can see it on my blog, click here. As I was finishing it up last night, I was thinking about the last couple weeks and how much I wanted to move on to my October and November pages, as I have their materials all picked out. Yet I made myself stick with finishing this one before moving on.

Are many of you doing the same thing? Making sure that you complete the current month before moving on? For me, I decided that part of the challenge of this project would be requiring myself to finish each month in order, as I often start, and never complete projects.

Happy Beading Everyone,
Trilly/Lisa D.

Behinder Beader in NH

My September page is 98% done and I like the simplicity and symmetrical nature of the Harvest Moon.

However, August languishes 3/4 finished and October isn't even a plan yet. Maybe I should do a tongue-in-cheek October page with just one bead sewn to the center with a single fringe tail and call it "catch up"!
