slow going...

Well, I finally finished all of the fire on my Elemental Fire panel. I still have to choose the colors for the inside - it will be green, like the leaf in the center of Elemental Air, but more of a true green as opposed to green-blue or blue-green.

Part of the reason this is going so slow is because I am doing a lot of writing lately. I have written a couple of new poems. I am also taking an Intro to Fiction Writing course online through UNC-Chapel Hill which is a blast - but tons of work.

Latest Update for the Penultimate Behinder

Well, I’ve been pretty busy lately so haven’t had time to get caught up completely. But I have worked on it some, and have an update posted here: http://beadg1rl.deviantart.com/art/Elemental-Fire-WIP-92303598 Just click on the picture to enlarge it. This is the second panel of 4 for the entire BJP. The first one can be seen here: http://beadg1rl.deviantart.com/art/Elemental-Air-83547456

I also have progress photos on my blog http://beadingbutterfly.blogspot.com if you don’t have a DA account and want to leave comments. :)

All is finished

Hello fellow beaders,

I have just finished the last panel of my tryptich : Shimmering gardens.
You can view Sunset (the pink panel) and Midnight (the blue one) on my blog HERE

For the 2008 BJP, I think that I'll choose a smaller size for my pages, about 4" x 4".

Happy Holidays to all
Hugs

My Year Of Beads

I've put together a blog post here that sort of sums up my time in the BJP and with you all.

Many, many thanks again to Robin who thought the Big Think.

May Page Accompli!

Well, I thought I was finished, but No. You can see my page for May HERE.

I realized there's still a bit more beadwork to be done.

2nd Quarter Update on "Fire"

Well, I've gotten a little more done on the 2nd quarter. Not sure if I'll be able to get it all done over the summer, but here's hoping! See progress on my blog here.

May Bead Journal Project - completed

My bead journal for the last twelve months is finished and it's the a journey. Not so much in me learning new things, but in myself:

• Can I do a challenge?
• Can I maintain self imposed deadlines?
• Can I put together a cohesive, but individual look?

I learned, I can.

Check it out here: May

Final three pages

Hi everyone... I finished the final page of my bead journal, it's hard to believe it's been a year already. You can see the pages on my blog: March, April, May.

The Chaste Moon for March

The "Chaste Moon" has a secret! It was made not just for the BJP, but also as a challenge piece for another forum. The theme was "hidden in plain sight", so I worked some Braille letters into the piece with slightly larger beads. You can see a picture of the page, plus a picture that shows the "secret message" here: LINK

Skeletons

Pam T wrote on her blog: "This one has been poking at my brain since I finished it in October and didn't use it...... so I finished it up and now it's March! Still very appropriate, as skeletons are always rattling in MY closet...."

This is something that I have done - I have a couple of monthly projects that I have worked on, maybe completed, but haven't decided to put them in my BJP, but they are just sitting on my workbench.

Does anyone else have these "skeletons"? (perfect word by the way!)

March Page Posted

This is a teaser for my March BJP page.

For a good look, complete details or to find out what else I've been up to you can visit my Blog.

My BJP pieces won a prize!!

April's Grass Moon

I submitted half of my pages (the ones that were done at the time!) to the 2007 Fire Mountain Gems beading contest, and they won a Bronze in the home decor category! LINK

March is finished!

My March journal page is the full moon for February...the snow moon. Very appropriate for us in New England this year, that's for sure! You can see it here if you'd like to take a look. It's sort of a minimalist piece this time.

Finished Page

I finished the latest page, and you can see it here.

March is done!

Yay - This one took a while - mostly because I lost track of where it was going and found myself scratching my head and saying 'okay - now what?' which is pretty much the way my life has been this month. In any event, it's done and it's here.

Here's Another Page Started

I've got a good start on my next page. You can see it here. I'm working to get it finished and the next one started before the end of the month, but since Bead Expo is in only two weeks, I have no idea how far my ambition will take me.

My February page is done!

I wanted to do January's Wolf Moon for my February page. Even though it's confusing sometimes, I like doing last month's moon this month, so that I have a better feel for how it went! I decided to bead just the eyes, emerging from a dark night. You can see it here.
