May page complete!

I am shaking myself all over as I try to realize that I've completed the pages for the first year of this project! Am signed up for next year and have my theme but not the size of the finished pages. Before I think about that I need to devise a permanent home for these pages. I was planning on a scroll - really set on the idea - but now I see that the pages won't roll very easily. To force them into a scroll shape and then unroll it for show & tell, then reroll - over and over - is to risk damage and bending portions of the page. So I'm back to square one for the moment but committed to having this organized and complete by the time the 2008 cycle begins in September.

Meanwhile you can see my completed page right here. What a year it's been!

April page completed!

I followed Robin's suggestions to start with gray and then examine the contents of last month's envelope. Full results are here. Having some trouble processing the fact that we're getting ready to start the final month of a year long project! It doesn't seem that long at all and at the same time the process and group support has been so wonderful that it feels like it's always existed.

caught up again

Can't seem to upload a teaser pic but wanted to let folks know I completed my "behinder" page for February. You can see and read about it here.

This weekend I'm getting to work on my April page. Have decided to follow through on Robin's suggestions to "start with gray" and let March's "envelope" reveal some clues about what was inside of it.

OMG - She's been thinking.......

G'day Everyone,
Well I've finally caught up, finished Feb, March and April in record time - for me!
Starting on May tomorrow, sorry but I do have a real job to go to tonight.
August is still sitting waiting, like a good child overlooked for the louder attention seekers.
I've been thinking (stop laughing!) and have come up with a theme for the 2008 BJP.
Hope it works out. I say that as I recall I had a theme for this years but it dosn't seem to have worked out that way. Anyways all the above are posted on Flickr and on my blog - which is rather new - http://sisterfour.blogspot.com/

March BJP complete

I'm delighted to report that I've completed my March BJP page a bit ahead of schedule. This will give me a couple of days to focus on also getting the February page finished. This month's Contrary Journey took a look at "areas of gray" and, as usual, the more I focussed on the page, the more the theme revealed about itself. You can read more details and see the full page here.

Button Help

Timaree left a comment on my blog and asked how I was able to add the BJP button. Well that is a good question, it was just dumb luck. I don't know a lot about how it works, but you must access (edit) the layout of your blog and then paste the code to the "Html" tab. I then copied and pasted the button to the blog layout tab where I wanted it to appear on the page. From there I viewed my blog and the button was there and it took me to the BJP Blog when I clicked on it. That is truly 10% knowledge and 90% luck.

January page complete

Here's my page for last month. Have blogged about it here.

Am I the only one who feels the process is getting more intense and true to itself with each passing month? I can't believe I almost dropped out in the second month. This project has become part of each month's backbone for me and I'm starting to have some separation anxiety about the fact that it's over in May ...

happy new year!

Am not posting a picture of my page for this month in case it is too "unpleasant" a viewpoint/topic for some reader's tastes. Suffice it to say the title is The Devil You Know & The Devil You Don't.
An image is blogged here along with all the particulars.

November page completed

I have created another water shrine - this time for deep water. My favorite part about this month was realizing that I was able to connect journaling themes and design elements to the influence of past pages. It's the first time I've had a sustained sense of the call & response that the pages create when they're viewed as a group. It really excited me!!! Have added an image to the Flickr group and also blogged about this page in greater detail.

Dogs Rule Too!

Cats aren't the only ones who rule!

While visiting my daughter, I set up a worktable between the beds in her guestroom. It made it very easy for my dog, and hers, to let me know when it was dinner time!! "It's 5 o'clock, do you know where my dinner is"!

I took some pictures of rooms my daughter painted for her family while I was there too. You can see them here.

I have a question...

Hello all you hard beading ladies out there!
The weather has turned cool here in MI,
and for once I am not stewing in a menopausal sauna.
Spring and fall are the two seasons I love the most.
I've put my bead embroidery down for a little while,
so I can catch up with things that I've left undone.
But enough of my ramblings...I have a question
for the quilters out there. If you have the time
could you please go to my blog and see
if you can offer me some suggestions on a quilt I have?
Any input would be so helpful to me. Thanks in advance...

Artful Whatever

I'm responding to Marcia's post about creating an "Artful Blog" and the magazine article which disappointed her. Here's my opinion about it...

What is an artful blog? Isn't it one that is appealing, fun to view and authentic? Making a blog like that takes practice and time. It's like your BJP pages... the more you do, the more you learn and the more your own unique voice develops.

Some years ago the buzz word of the day was embellishments. Today it's artful. Bah-humbug! I suggest we take it for what it is, a media buzz word, and go about our business of doing art and blogging about it, learning and getting better at it over time.

September Page Underway

I'm really relieved to feel back on track after August's tardiness. I have started my September page this week and feel confident it will be completed by the end of the month. If you'd like to see what I'm going this month, here's the link.
