The Chaste Moon for March

The "Chaste Moon" has a secret! It was made not just for the BJP, but also as a challenge piece for another forum. The theme was "hidden in plain sight", so I worked some Braille letters into the piece with slightly larger beads. What to Bead on?

This question was asked before, but now that some folks have answered that they use Peltex, I have a question. Is that like Timtex? Do you bead directly on the surface of the Peltex/Timtex or do you put fabric over it and bead on the fabric with the Peltex as backing? Thanks for all of you who share with us!

New Bead Embroidery Book!

Hi... Great news!!!

My new book is finished and off to the printer!!!!! The title is

Heart to Hands Bead Embroidery
Fresh Ideas and Techniques for Creating Art with Beads

I'll post a link to more information and ordering on my blog and website in a few days (after I receive a confirmed delivery date). The book should be available to you in about a month!!!!
This book was the longest pregnancy (4 years) and the most difficult labor of any so far. But it was worth all the effort as it's absolutely gorgeous. I'm so thrilled with all the pictures and everything about it. (Goodness, it's not even my first child... how could I be so excited?!)

Just had to share... Now I'm catching up on everything, starting with bookkeeping and taxes for 2007. Yikes... that will be a big job. As a reward for each boring bookkeeping task, I'm going give myself a little time to visit your recent blog posts and post my own February BJP. Yeah!

FYI

There have been several posts to the QuiltArt list this week about using Fireline for beading on fabric pieces that may be ironed. The consensus is that it will melt if it comes in contact with direct or even indirect heat (using teflon press cloth). I don't use Fireline, but I know some of you have mentioned it as an alternative to beading thread so I thought I would pass along the caution.

Despite the fact that my parents are visiting me (grin), I managed to sneak away long enough to post about my newest page. I did November's full moon, which is the "Beaver Moon". Lots of giggles and snickers in my juvenile mind while I was deciding what to stitch :-D
