The last page!

I waited until last Saturday the 12th to begin my May block. But then it just took me over and MADE me finish it. I am pleased with it, and think it will be the crowning block (well, at least the LAST block) of my year's collection. You can go here to see the progress and the finished block.

A behinder

Hello there.... it's been a long time since I've contributed.  Too much to do, but a little beading happening often.  I have finished my November BJP piece.  I am going to switch modes and work more improvisationally, so will be using fabrics other than my own photos which read too literally for me.  I like the textures that many of you have shown in your work, and think I would like to try my hand at that.  See my November piece at my blog here quiltbeadsandothersuch.blogspot.com. September Rose

YIKES! It's not even half way through the month, and I'm finished with September. I can hardly believe it myself! I got so excited about this one, that it just kept getting little bits done and then it was time to sew it together. I decided to do something more three dimensional, and printed out the design several times, and created separate pieces to bead and sew on the main backing. One day while I was digging through my bead box, things started spilling out as I was getting more and more frustrated because I couldn't find what I was looking for. When I did find it, I looked down, and a carved bone moon face had fallen into the center of my rose in progress. It just sat there and told me it needed to be part of this rose. So my rose now has a personality for sure! I am really happy with the whole feeling of the piece. See it here.

Almost the end of July

Such fabulous work that people are doing.... such inspiration to me! I love the sharing that people are doing in their blogs. It makes me more willing the share the things that motivate or stump me.
I am working hard to finish my July page before the end of July, but it may lap over into August. I am so pleased with my project, that I hardly care.... I have the momentum to go on! I really WANT to finish! This is such a great project for me! But my arthritic hands are complaining,,, hard to work for the hours I want to! AND that is in addition to the hours I work using my hands in my quilting and custom sewing business.
I have posted photos of my June and July pages on my blog, so come see! http://quiltbeadsandothersuch.blogspot.com/
