About the 2007 Bead Journal Project

We are 241 women and 1 man who are dedicated and committed to creating 12 bead journal pages, one per month, for a year, starting June 1, 2007. We live in 13 different countries, including 37 states in the USA. Our primary goal during this process, is to stretch our creative and technical limits. The BJP is all about visual journaling using any media and techniques, as long as it includes beading. We are free to structure our bead journal pages any way we want, as long as all 12 are the same size. Through this blog, we intend to support each other in process, techniques and design. Until September 1, 2007, we will not post pictures of our finished journal pages. Many of us have our own blogs or websites (links below) where we may post pictures sooner.

I have a few new additions to my blog.

I am still learning how to photograph my beaded projects. I'll take any advice that is offered to get a clearer photo. Also, is there a way to make the resolution smaller when you click on the photo? Mine are gigantic when they open up!!!

Timaree said...: I take my photos with the item on a flat surface in front of a well lit window (no sunshine coming in though). Then I turn off the flash; that's what causes so much reflection that colors get wiped out and too many sparkles show up. Sometimes I use the macro setting and sometimes the auto (actually I take some of both and see which turn out best). I use a medium setting for quality so the picture won't come out too big and also crop the picture to make the pixel size less. Then when you open a picture it won't take so long or be so big. At least, this is what I have found to work. It's possible I have just plain ol' been lucky as I really know nothing about photography!; January 14, 2008 at 8:32 PM

I don't have to worry too much about sunshine coming in this time of year - I live in Michigan after all,and right now it is gray and snowing, very gray, but not as gray as my depression piece at least!; January 15, 2008 at 5:13 AM
