Some good news...

Hi all,

For my July page (pictured below) I used purples and yellows with the intention of entering it in Margie Deeb's - Yellow/Violet Color Challenge.

Today I received the news that I was chosen the winner. I have sat with the news for a few hours to let it sink in - I'm still in shock I think. I wanted to share the good news with my fellow journal participants and encourage you to check out the link above to view other participant's entries for some wonderful eye candy.

Take care,
Grace

Grace - I received Margie Deeb's newsletter earlier today and recognized your work right away. Congratulations on such a well-deserved honor. Your hand is just stunning and the balance of purples and yellows perfect.

Of course you won, Grace! The reason is more than your exquisite technique and colors. Behind that, there is the compelling sense of something very significant and deep about this piece. Margie said "mystical" and attributed it to the color blance. But I attribute it to the subject, the way you explored your connection to your daughter through this work. Much more than any of the other winning pieces, your "truth" is evident, if only discernable at an inner level. Bravo!

I appreciate the kind words and the encouragement. I'm grateful to be a part of this wonderfully talented and supportive group of people.

I thank you all for this experience and especially Robin for the concept that has provided the avenue for so many beautiful works of art to come to life in one place.

What a great ride!

Wow! Here's another congratulations! And everyone is right-- there is such a depth to this piece, which would have shown through regardless of the colors chosen. But you used those colors so well!
