As I said before the theme was my 50th birthday. On the day I was born, Elvis was number one in the charts. When I was 10, the hippies and the peace movement were to the fore. By the time I was 20 and at college, the punk movement had arrived. When I was 30, I was a mother of 2 and the Simpsons had been created for the Tracey Ulman show. In 1997, a bright new world was opened up to me with the arrival of our first PC and the Tellytubbies arrived, acknowledging the fact even babies were not immune from the effects of TV. Now 2007, the world is dying beneath our feet and very cause has a ribbon.

From Elvis to Punk... everything about this piece is personal and real!!! I just love it! Click on it for a link to Jacqui's Flickr page, where you can appreciate all the details in a larger picture. Bravo!!!

Thank you Robin for your comment. Yes it turned out very personal which is probably why it took so long to actually complete. Its like a chapter has been closed and now I am onto the next chapter of the book.

This project has been a godsend to me, as it has really made realise how much my art means to me, if not to anyone else (by that I mean my immediate circle).

Thanks for creating this project and I am already into September.

Only a few years younger than you, I completely relate to this page. The images chart my history but I don't believe the world is dying beneath out feet, I thing a new phoenix is about to rise from the ashes created by man. That phoenix is woman and through us the world will be reborn (at least, I truly hope so)

Thank you for your comment and I sincerely hope it is not dying beneath our feet but on days that all the news is about the fires in CA and all the other news, its hard to have faith sometimes.

People forget that Margaret Thatcher was a woman, I think, and she had a heart colder than many men.

Amazing memory page! Just think I was 17 when I interviewed Elvis for our high school newspaper in the year you were born . . .

A really great page. I'm just a few years older but it seems a whole world. Hippies and flower power were in mine but my family was started too early for Teletubbies or the Simpson's besides which I had them reading rather than watching the new Sesame Street!

I don't think the world is going down either. I think it's just having new growing pains. We might exacerbate climate change but nature starts it; we need to stop thinking violence is the answer to our problems though or it won't matter much what Mother Nature is up to. I love your multi-colored ribbon. Maybe we could use that one for Tolerance/Peace!! Also love your safety pins!

A really nice page. I don't know why I thought you were at least 10 years younger.

Your page is my 7 year old daughter's favorite from all the BJP project...
