Stuck!

I have my April page ready to go and find I just can't seem to start it. I don't know why. I've been challenged by some of my pages but they haven't come to a dead stop before. What a time to hit the wall. I'm posting here to tell you I really want to finish my pages. I thought I'd have them done by now. I am hoping to put a few beads on my page today hoping that writing here will give me a push now that you all know I haven't been doing anything. Sheesh. I want to start next years pages and haven't finished this years. Is that what my problem is? I hope not.

You know robin's advice...just pick one bead you really love and put it on and see what happens...then put another one on...
Nine times out of ten that works for me, the tenth time when it doesn't I go for a walk and see what I can pick up either at the beach (for natural stuff) or down at the docks (for funky stuff)....maybe it's just the walk that does it!

My advice - bead about your block. Maybe beading about it will help you understand it better.

. . . or, go to the next beaded page, then come back to the one that has you so flummoxed. Sometimes a "change of scenery" is all that is needed to put one in the right direction.

Sometimes it helps me if I lay out colors I'd like to use. But sometimes that doesn't help either. LOL.

I think Brenda's idea is a great one.

having just read your blog, maybe it can be about that, especially with your one year anniversery, just passed.

Must admit I have had a block about March and then suddenly it dawned on me why, so that is what I am going to do my page on. A similar thing happened with April,so I did May first.

Go through your beads, find a color that grabs you without putting much thought into it and start. You will come up with it at some point. Grab colors that make you feel good. Its ok, you are not being graded. Julie C

Go on to your next page. If I had waited to finish my original September page, I would not have finished all the rest of them. I skipped it and went on. When it came time to do it, I ended up starting a whole new page that I love.
Many of us have been through this and you will make it through too.Stop worrying about it and bead something you like.

Well, you've gotten a lot of very good suggestions here!!! I have one more... when I get stuck, it usually has something to do with wanting my piece to be perfect or just right. When I let go of that and tell myself "This piece does not have to be perfect," it relieves the pressure and allows me to pick up a bead I love and sew it on somewhere.

Please give us an update when you can...

Hugs, Robin

Wow! Great advise from everyone. I'll just say - I'm right here with you and you can do it. Sometimes finishing up a project is worse than starting one, I find. Since you're coming to a close, it might be that. I can't wait to see them all. The rest have been great!

Sometimes it helps to walk away, and come back at it later.

I find that when I try to force creative work, it's not fun (and usually not very pretty! ;)

April was hard for me too ; I just didn't want BJP 2007 to end.

By the time it was the moment for May I became excited by the idea of closing the circle.

Ah well, i hope you get unstuck soon !
