Thanks for the info helene. Sacredartist, I alway use a felt back but generally have a cotton retangle to work on. On this this piece, I used a white on white pattern cotton and as I did the Dragon, it just didn't seem right, too bland a texture compared to the Sword and the Dragon. I really didn't want to redo the piece so I needled felted the background. As I punched I was thinking of typical English subjects, like cricket, the village church and the Lake district.

I like George and the Dragon. Looks like you did this on felt. Amazing how much detail you got into this little square. Nice work!
