So, I have spent a lifetime of instilling an inner time clock of getting up every 20 minutes or so from whatever I am doing, whether it is typing on a manuscript or working with beads or anything. Simply taking a brief walk outside or around the house helps keep my eyes in focus and my body from overdoing things.

Sure hope you get to feeling better soon!

Kathy V in NMKVhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14893455571484379148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2465789206319703084.post-33420086250221193512007-07-08T21:37:00.001-07:002007-07-08T21:37:00.001-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Timareehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15769047120660859743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2465789206319703084.post-58781748353987713682007-07-08T21:37:00.000-07:002007-07-08T21:37:00.000-07:00I got carpal tunnel from milking goats! I was afraid all this blogging and beading would make it hurt a lot but I put on a brace every night and so far have not had any trouble. Then again, I am a very antsy person and can't sit still for more than 20 minutes so maybe I give my arm the rest it needs naturally.

Hope it gets better very soon.Timareehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15769047120660859743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2465789206319703084.post-76451080714323926692007-07-08T19:59:00.000-07:002007-07-08T19:59:00.000-07:00I have sometimes been known to bead for hours with...I have sometimes been known to bead for hours with no ill effects. However, I got tendonitis from scrubbing out a bathtub! This taught me a valuable lesson and let me know where my priorities should lie. :- D And I take pretty frequent breaks these days anyway, just in case.Lois2037https://www.blogger.com/profile/04776736493772592187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2465789206319703084.post-32912275022612454732007-07-08T09:46:00.000-07:002007-07-08T09:46:00.000-07:00Oh duh, I had my surgery April 19th and the cast o...Oh duh, I had my surgery April 19th and the cast off in May.vivagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12869897494047218024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2465789206319703084.post-87634768887366123192007-07-08T09:02:00.000-07:002007-07-08T09:02:00.000-07:00Want a reminder never to ignore pain from repetiti...Want a reminder never to ignore pain from repetitive motion? Just go read in my daily blog about my tennis elbow surgery (May 19th, 2007). Tennis elbow surgery and casted arm There are a lot of pictures, showing my incision and what happens to your hand if you're in a full arm cast and can't keep it up above your heart.

And I am still going thru physical therapy. Really, ya don't want to have to go thru surgery. Stop and rest, ice it and take anti-inflammatories!

:-) A public service announcement from me, who loves to bead and work with her hands but couldn't for the longest time.vivagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12869897494047218024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2465789206319703084.post-8363959688954044202007-07-08T08:53:00.000-07:002007-07-08T08:53:00.000-07:00Sorry to hear about your muscle strain, hope that'...Sorry to hear about your muscle strain, hope that's all it is!!! One thing I finally did, but don't use all the time, is to get a kitchen timer. I set it for 30 minutes for stretch breaks. Thanks for the reminder, I'll need to start using that again!!! Get better soon!
grazie per averlo ricordato Susan, ciao matildamAtildahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00836064164750686784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2465789206319703084.post-92147514324021737682007-07-08T07:36:00.000-07:002007-07-08T07:36:00.000-07:00I've done that, too. Along with Ibprofin to relieve the inflamation, it did take a little while to heal. Thanks for the very good reminder to take breaks.heidibeadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14008121382875319764noreply@blogger.com
